- Born 1981.
- You can call me Lisa. You can also call me Sarah, my super-sekrit temple name.
- Born and raised in Northern California.
- Back in school to get my single-subject teaching credential in English. Junior high or high school, I dunno.
- Married my BIC husband DILF in March 2002. He is a junior high math teacher. We have three kids, one house, one unbelievably anti-social kitty, and shitload of fish. He, too, has had enough of the church and considers himself an atheist. One of the great things about the timing of our leaving is that the kids are young. Though they remember a few things, it's not nearly enough to affect them too much.
- Hobbies include writing and reading. And, if I'm being honest, wasting my time on the Internet. Mostly here, my reader, and facebook. And yes, that's pretty much it.
- I consider myself a writer. Poetry, stories--but these days it's strictly blogging.
- I can be extremely competitive.
- I have the mind and palate of an 12 year old.
- I may like reading but I'm pretty terrible at retaining and getting details and whatnot. Especially when I'm in compulsive mode. If I misunderstand what you say in a comment, please forgive. I will likely realize the misunderstanding, ooooh, two seconds after I press "publish."
- Interests include politics, and though I won't call myself ignorant on the subject I am most certainly not as educated on many issues as some of my friends and acquaintances are. That said, I do love to research.
- I have and have always had an affinity for cursing. Maybe too much. Especially when I'm angry. Besides, I have ten years of abstaining to make up for.
- I like editing. And superfluous commas. Tangents, too.
- I find nothing wrong with a little double-dipping. And no, you dirty dirty person, I don't mean like that.
- I don't drink often, but I like that I can. I hate that I feel like I'm 16 when I spot my MIL in the store where I'm holding a bottle of champagne.
- I'm one of those people who needs to talk or write things out to make any semblance of sense out of anything. Hence, the blog.
- I do love my soapbox. Too much.
- I flatter myself to be rather well-acquainted with the conservative viewpoint.
- I try my best to be open minded and to see things from the other side. Also, never say never, don't judge, concede when appropriate, etc. It's rough, but I do try.
- Favorite books include The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, Life as We Knew It series by Susan Beth Pfeffer, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins, Le Petit Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupery, Beloved by Toni Morrison, and The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner.
- Music includes Tori Amos, Muse, Steel Train, Marah...Lady Gaga (don't judge!), and, well, a variety of different songs by different bands and people, like Mumford and Sons, Iron and Wine, etc. I was a HUGE Alanis Morissette fan back in the day (had a fairly successful website back then, 1997-99 called "The Alanis Morissette Files"). I'm a bit of a mainstream nerd. I'm too lazy to seek out too many underground/indie stuff and so rely on friends with similar tastes and more energy.
- TV shows include True Blood, Big Love, Bill Maher (sp?), various shows of ridiculous caliber, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Tudors, lovedloved Gilmore Girls among other shows that have since gone the way of Seinfeld. Uhm...
- Don't ask me about movies. I can never remember any that I've seen that I've liked. I too much prefer teh shiny for a lot of movies.
- I'm pretty reserved in person.
- Anything else, just ask.
